# September 2026 Release: The biggest Game Nest update yet

Online play for five more board games, multiplayer room hosting, Personal Game Studio, Pro Insights, local backup and restore, a tactile arcade-key redesign, smoother boards, rebuilt sound, and hundreds of fixes.

## 1. Play online

<!-- Game Nest 3.3.0 release notes. -->

Hex, Nine Men's Morris, Bagh Chal, Go and Chess now support online matches alongside the existing multiplayer games.

- Pro players can create a private room and invite friends with a room code.
- Hosts can choose who moves first, allow spectators, add room rules and save room presets.
- Players can join free without a purchase, sign-up or password.
- Creating, joining or spectating a room starts a pseudonymous online session only when needed and does not create a leaderboard profile.
- Match syncing, reconnects, rematches and completed-room cleanup are more reliable.

## 2. Game Nest Pro

Game Nest Pro includes three optional benefits. It does not lock any game, standard mode or difficulty.

- **Create multiplayer rooms:** host online games, invite friends from anywhere and configure the room before play starts.
- **Personal Game Studio:** personalize tables, boards, pieces, cards, dice, court cards, deck colours and sound effects.
- **Pro Insights:** see private trends, records, milestones and a shareable summary of how you play.

Invited players join from a room code without a purchase, sign-up or password. Monthly, yearly and lifetime purchases unlock the same Pro features, and the purchase screen only shows a trial when the store confirms eligibility.

## 3. Easy, Medium and Hard

Every established game with a computer opponent now offers three difficulty levels:

Tic Tac Toe, Ultimate Tic Tac Toe, Connect 4, Checkers, Reversi, Mancala, Gomoku, Dots & Boxes, Warships, Backgammon and Chain Reaction.

- Records are kept separately for each level.
- Previous results remain under Hard, so no history is lost.
- Undo is available on Easy and Medium. Hard plays without it.
- Each level changes how the opponent plays, not just how long it thinks.

## 4. Personal Game Studio

Pro players can build a look and sound that stays private on their device and works offline.

- Use personal photos for card backs and card-game tables.
- Choose surfaces for supported boards and styles for pieces, cards, dice and coins.
- Import short clips for milestone sounds such as wins, records and timer alarms.
- Save up to 24 complete looks and reapply one in a tap.

Custom selections stay saved if Pro expires and return when access is restored.

## 5. A new arcade-key look

- Buttons, tiles, dialogs, chips, switches and number pads now share one tactile arcade-key style.
- Every game has a clearer, purpose-drawn icon across the hub, home screens and statistics.
- Search sits within easy reach above the games tab.
- Categories are reorganized to make the larger catalog easier to scan.
- Settings adds Light, Dark and Custom appearance modes.

## 6. Smoother boards and controls

- Most boards now use a dedicated game renderer for steadier motion and faster input.
- Larger boards support pinch to zoom, drag to pan and a reset-view control.
- Computer turns play out move by move so they are easier to follow.
- Boards show clearer legal moves, previews and status cues.
- Shared headers and controls keep actions in the same place across games.

## 7. Play with a keyboard

Keyboard controls are consistent across supported games on macOS, Windows and the web.

| Key | Action |
| --- | --- |
| Arrows / WASD | Move or move the cursor |
| Enter / Space | Place, reveal, select or confirm |
| Z | Undo |
| Backspace / Delete | Clear a value or undo |
| Escape | Close a dialog or go back |
| 1-9 | Enter a number |
| P | Pause |

## 8. New sound and music

- Sounds respond faster and can overlap without cutting each other off.
- Frequently repeated sounds vary slightly so long sessions feel less mechanical.
- A calm ambient music loop has its own switch.
- One Settings panel controls game sound, music and system sounds.
- Bingo can announce calls aloud.

## 9. Cards, pickers and tools

- Patience games screen deals for winnability and warn only when a deal is proven impossible to finish.
- Card games share clearer faces, controls, legal-drop highlights and Replay Deal.
- Pickers such as Coin Flip, Dice Roller, Spin Wheel, Team Generator and Finger Chooser have richer motion and feedback.
- Stopwatch & Timer, Pomodoro Focus, Chess Clock, BMI & Calories, QR Generator and Time to Buy have clearer controls and results.

## 10. Puzzles, words and quizzes

- Nonogram boards avoid guesswork, and Shikaku boards remain solvable through deduction.
- Mini Sudoku adds notes and undo, while Minesweeper adds custom board sizes and mine counts.
- Hints follow one limit and cooldown across supported games.
- Quiz games share a consistent question and answer experience.
- Word games use one input system so the keyboard and board agree.
- Math Challenge has a larger keypad and stays responsive after each answer.

## 11. Easier to reach and read

- Every interactive control has at least a 48dp touch target.
- Common actions sit closer to the play area.
- Landscape screens use layouts designed for the available width.
- Destructive actions are separated from primary actions and require confirmation.
- Larger digits and clearer game headers improve readability.

## 12. Saves, statistics and backup

- Leaving a game partway through pauses it instead of recording a loss.
- Completion timers keep accurate time when the app is in the background.
- Play time and leaderboard scores are credited to the correct game.
- The leaderboard shows your standing before the global results.
- Leaderboard participation remains optional: the profile is created on the first score sync, after you confirm the public name.
- Settings can back up saves, scores and preferences to one local file and restore them on another device.
- Restore validates the backup before replacing local data.
