Privacy Policy for Game Nest
Effective date: September 11, 2026 Last updated: October 4, 2026
Game Nest is operated by Rohit Modani under the Voythrix name ("Game Nest," "Voythrix," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how information is handled in the Game Nest mobile application (the "App") and on the official Game Nest website at gamenest.voythrix.com (the "Website").
Contact: voythrix@gmail.com
1. Privacy at a glance
- No email/password or traditional account is required to use the App.
- Most games, tools, settings, progress, imported media, and Pro Insights data stay on your device.
- The App has no advertising SDK and does not use a third-party behavioral analytics SDK.
- The App creates pseudonymous installation identifiers locally. It does not create a cloud leaderboard profile on startup.
- When you first choose to sync a score or past scores, the App asks for your preferred public name and creates the leaderboard profile as part of that sync.
- Online multiplayer and spectating necessarily send room, participant, and gameplay data to our backend and other people in the room.
- Subscription and lifetime-purchase status is processed by the relevant app store and RevenueCat.
- When the App crashes or hits an error, a crash report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can find and fix the problem.
- The Website uses Vercel Web Analytics and ordinary hosting logs.
2. Information the App handles
2.1 Installation and player identifiers
On first launch, the App creates:
- a random installation identifier (UUID), stored as
device_id; and - a shorter Player ID, stored as
unique_id, which can be used for support and data requests.
The App also creates a default player name and derives a default country from your device locale. You can change the player name and country in the App.
The App does not send these identifiers to Supabase merely because the App starts or you view public leaderboard scores. When you first choose to sync a score or past scores, it creates an anonymous authenticated session and sends the installation/player identifier, the public name you confirm, the selected or device-derived country, and update time. Online multiplayer and spectating may also create an anonymous authenticated session and resolve the installation identifier when you choose those features. These details are pseudonymous unless you choose an identifying display name, but privacy laws may still treat them as personal data. Supabase also receives ordinary network information, such as an IP address, as part of providing the connection.
2.2 Leaderboards
If you choose Sync Score or Sync Past Scores, the App asks for your preferred public name before the first submission, creates the leaderboard profile, and may send:
- the installation identifier;
- player display name and selected country;
- game and mode identifiers;
- score, completion time, or other ranking value;
- submission and update times.
Public leaderboard screens can show the display name, country, score or time, and rank. The installation identifier and Player ID are not intended to be displayed publicly.
If a leaderboard profile already exists, changes you make to the player name or country may be synchronized to that profile.
Leaderboard participation is optional. Scores and progress otherwise remain local unless another feature described in this policy sends them.
2.3 Online multiplayer and spectating
Creating, joining, or spectating a room creates or reuses a pseudonymous anonymous Auth session and resolves the online Player ID. Multiplayer uses that identity independently and does not create a leaderboard profile. If you later choose to sync a score for the first time, the App still asks you to confirm the separate public leaderboard name.
When you create, join, or spectate an online room, the App may send and synchronize:
- the room code and game type;
- installation identifiers, display names, assigned seats or sides, and host information;
- room preferences, including optional host-written room rules, participant and spectator lists, connection status, and timestamps;
- game state, moves, turn information, results, and winner identifiers; and
- technical information required to deliver real-time updates.
This information is shared with the other players and, when spectating is enabled by the host, spectators in that room. Do not use a display name that reveals information you do not want other people to see. Game Nest does not provide in-room text or voice chat.
2.4 Purchases and Pro status
The App uses Apple App Store or Google Play billing and RevenueCat to offer monthly, yearly, and lifetime Game Nest Pro products. When purchase services are initialized, RevenueCat may process an anonymous app-user identifier, device and operating-system information, app version, last-seen information, available offerings, and entitlement status. If you purchase or restore Pro, the store and RevenueCat may also process transaction information, receipts, or purchase tokens.
We do not receive or store your full payment-card number. Apple or Google controls payment processing, billing records, refunds, and store-account information under its own terms and privacy policy.
2.5 Information that normally remains on your device
The App stores local information using device storage, including Hive databases, preferences, files, and temporary files. Depending on which features you use, this can include:
- game scores, progress, streaks, saved games, statistics, and settings;
- player name, country, installation identifiers, and cached leaderboard data;
- Pro Insights session history and daily snapshots, including game, time, duration, result, mode, difficulty, score, and personal-record information;
- names and settings entered into party games and utilities;
- values entered into utilities such as BMI, calorie, finance, time, date, randomization, and scoring tools;
- QR-code content, which may contain text, contact details, URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, or other information you choose to enter;
- photos selected for Personal Game Studio, re-encoded local copies, board and card-back choices, colors, and other personalization settings;
- imported custom sound files and sound assignments; and
- exported backup files and generated images that you choose to save or share.
The App does not upload selected personalization photos or custom sound files to our backend. QR-code generation and the calculations performed by offline tools occur locally. If you share, export, print, or back up content, the operating system and the destination app, printer, cloud service, or recipient you choose will handle that content under their own practices.
Pro Insights currently keeps up to approximately 2,000 local session records and up to approximately 400 days of daily snapshots. Operating-system backups may retain or restore local App data according to your device and backup settings.
2.6 Permissions and system features
The App uses internet access for online features, purchase status, external links, reviews, and font delivery. It asks for photo-library access only when you choose a photo for Personal Game Studio, and it uses a system file picker when you import a sound or backup. It can also invoke system sharing, text-to-speech, printing, and store-review features.
The current App does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or precise-location permission.
2.7 Crash reports
The App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to learn when and why it crashes. When the App crashes, or an error occurs that it recovers from, Crashlytics receives a report containing the technical details of the failure (such as the stack trace), the device model, operating-system version, app version, free memory and disk space, whether the App was in the foreground, a Crashlytics installation identifier, the App's display style (Arcade or Classic), and the names of the screens opened shortly before the crash. Reports do not include your display name, scores, saves, imported photos or sounds, or purchase details. We use crash reports only to diagnose and fix problems; they are not used for advertising or tracking.
3. Website information
The Website does not provide user accounts or an input form. It uses:
- Vercel hosting, which may process IP addresses, request headers, security logs, and similar connection data needed to deliver and protect the Website;
- Vercel Web Analytics, which provides aggregated traffic information such as page path, referrer, coarse location, browser, operating system, and device type without placing analytics cookies; and
- Google Fonts, which may receive IP address, browser, and request information when font files are requested.
If you follow a link to an app store, social platform, donation page, or another site, that third party's policy applies.
4. Support communications
If you email us, we receive the email address, message, attachments, and other information you choose to provide. Our email provider also processes the communication. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, keep necessary business records, and comply with law.
5. Why we use information
We use information as needed to:
- provide installation identity, leaderboards, multiplayer, spectating, purchases, restores, support, and Website access;
- save preferences and enable offline features;
- maintain security, prevent cheating, diagnose failures, and protect the service;
- administer subscriptions and Pro entitlements;
- understand aggregated Website traffic; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Where a law requires a legal basis, the basis may be performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Game Nest, your consent for an optional feature or permission, or compliance with law. You can avoid optional cloud features, withdraw a device permission in system settings, or contact us about applicable privacy rights.
6. Service providers and international processing
We use service providers only for the functions described here:
| Provider | Purpose | Typical information involved |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Player-ID mapping, leaderboards, multiplayer database and real-time delivery | Pseudonymous IDs, display name, country, scores, room/game data, timestamps, network data |
| RevenueCat | Products, purchase validation, subscription and entitlement status | Anonymous app-user ID, device/app data, receipts or purchase tokens, entitlement data |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error reporting for the App | Crash details, device and app data, Crashlytics installation ID, recent screen names |
| Apple and Google | App distribution, billing, purchase restoration, reviews | Store-account, device, transaction, and review data controlled by the store |
| Vercel | Website hosting, security, and aggregated web analytics | IP/request data and aggregated visit information |
| Google Fonts | Font delivery in the App and on the Website | IP address and request metadata |
| Device and destination services you choose | Photo/file picking, sharing, printing, text-to-speech, backups, and opening links | The content or request you direct to that service |
These providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Their contractual terms, security measures, and any legally required transfer safeguards apply to their processing.
We do not sell personal data, rent it to data brokers, or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information when required by law; to protect users, rights, safety, or the service; or as part of a business reorganization, subject to appropriate protections.
7. Retention
- Local data: kept until you delete it, reset the App, clear app storage, or uninstall, subject to operating-system backups and exported copies.
- Online identity records: generally kept while the installation remains active. In-app score deletion removes the leaderboard profile, scores, and legacy display mapping, but keeps the anonymous Auth session and a protected ownership record so a deleted legacy ID cannot be claimed by someone else. A verified complete deletion request is broader, subject to limited records retained for security or law.
- Leaderboard data: kept until deleted through the available App control or a verified deletion request, unless a limited record must be retained for security, dispute resolution, or law.
- Multiplayer rooms: completed rooms are scheduled for deletion after 30 days; abandoned active rooms after 1 hour; and unused waiting rooms after 30 minutes. Scheduled cleanup may not be instantaneous.
- Purchase records: kept by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat according to their policies and legal obligations. We may retain limited entitlement and transaction records needed for purchases, fraud prevention, accounting, and disputes.
- Crash reports: kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Website data: hosting and analytics data is retained according to Vercel's settings and policies; we use aggregated analytics rather than individual visitor profiles.
- Support messages: kept as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain necessary records, prevent abuse, or comply with law.
De-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained for longer.
8. Your choices and rights
You can:
- play offline and decline leaderboard and multiplayer features;
- edit your display name and country;
- delete leaderboard scores using Settings > Data & Storage > Delete Scores;
- delete individual Personal Game Studio photos and custom sounds from their controls;
- use Reset All Data to clear most local settings, progress, and database records;
- manage photo permissions, backups, and app storage in device settings;
- cancel a renewable subscription in Apple App Store or Google Play settings; and
- request access, correction, or deletion by emailing voythrix@gmail.com.
Important limitations: Delete Scores removes the leaderboard profile, scores, and legacy display mapping associated with the online identity. It does not delete multiplayer room records, end the anonymous Auth session, remove the protected ownership record, or reset the local installation identifier and Player ID. Reset All Data is a local reset; it preserves the installation UUID, does not delete cloud records or store purchase history, and may leave unreferenced copied media files until app storage is cleared or the App is uninstalled. See the Data Deletion Guide for the complete process.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to receive information, access or correct data, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain processing, obtain a portable copy, appeal a decision, or complain to a regulator. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify that a request concerns your data. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted network transport, authenticated ownership checks, database access controls, request limits, and pseudonymous identifiers. The server does not independently verify offline gameplay. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect room codes, choose a non-sensitive display name, keep your device secure, and share exported content only with destinations you trust.
10. Children and families
Game Nest is designed to be family-friendly, but its online and purchase features process the identifiers and information described above. We do not knowingly ask children for direct contact information in the App. A parent or guardian should supervise a child's use, choose an appropriate display name, decide whether leaderboard, multiplayer, spectating, sharing, and purchase features should be used, and manage store purchase controls.
If you believe a child provided personal information without authorization, email voythrix@gmail.com with the Player ID if available. We will investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App, Website, providers, or law changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice in the App, on the Website, or through the store listing when a change is material. Continued use after an update means the new policy applies to future use, subject to any consent required by law.
